CBPM Dispensing Service Frequenty Asked Questions
Find out more info regarding Medical cannabis below

What do I need to access Medicinal Cannabis?

In order to supply you with Medicinal Cannabis, we will need to validate your prescription, and ensure it is appropriate for dispensing by checking it fits the below criteria:

  • Your prescribing doctor must be on the General Medical Councils Specialist Register
  • The prescription must be written to comply with legislation
  • The doctor must be prescribing from a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered clinic or establishment

If you have been seen by a clinic already, it's as simple as asking them to send your original prescription to us!

If you don't have a prescription yet, but wish to explore whether Medicinal Cannabis would be an appropriate treatment option for you, you can reach out to clinics who are specialists in treating conditions which may benefit from Medicinal Cannabis.

Alternatively, get in touch with us, and we'll be happy to support you in choosing a clinic.

We're also happy to be contacted by your GP's, should they need further information about Medicinal Cannabis, our services, how they can support your treatment, or how to refer you to an appropriate clinic.

Guidance for GP's and other healthcare professionals

If you have a patient who you feel would benefit from Medical Cannabis, you can signpost them to us! To facilitate the patient journey, please give the patient a summary of their medical care record, for them to bring to us. From there, we can support them in choosing a clinic, and provide guidance on the process, products, costs etc. Should you have any questions or queries, please contact us

CBPM Dispensing Service FAQ's

  1. How much will it cost?
    1. The cost of the medication will depend on the product and quantity prescribed to you. Please contact us to find out how much your medicine will cost.
In addition, we charge a dispensing fee of £20 per item on your prescription.
  2. How long will it take for my medication to be ready?
    1. Once your prescription has been validated, and payment received, we can order your medication.
    2. It can take between 7-10 working days for the medication to arrive with us.
    3. Please contact us if you have not received any communication from us after 10 working days.
  3. How do I make payment?
    1. We will contact you to confirm your prescription, and either send you a payment link, or take payment over the phone. Alternatively, you can pay at the pharmacy.
    2. We are only able to order your medication once payment has been received.
    3. We are unable to issue refunds for any medication once it has been ordered.
  4. My prescription has been sent via email. Am I able to collect my medication?
    1. In order to comply with Pharmacy Regulations, we MUST have the original, 'wet-ink' copy of the prescription in order to dispense the medication.
  5. When will I know my prescription is ready for collection?
    1. We will send you a text, or an email, notifying you when your prescription is ready for collection.
  6. When should I request a repeat prescription?
    1. Please aim to have your prescription with the pharmacy at least 14 days before you need it, so we can have it ready before you need it.
    2. This will give us plenty of time to procure the medication, and gives us enough time to resolve any problems, such as stock shortages, or delivery delays.
    3. The time frame is important, as prescriptions for Medicinal Cannabis are only valid for 28 days from the date on the prescription, and medication must be collected within this time period.
  7. Can I return my medication for a refund?
    1. Once an order has been placed for a medication, we are unable to issue a refund.
  8. What if I'm not satisfied with the quality of my medication?
    1. We encourage you to provide us with any feedback on your medication.
    2. If we find there is a genuine problem, we will report it back to the suppliers for support and investigation.
    3. As a natural, botanical product, Medicinal Cannabis can have variations in colour, look, feel, smell, taste etc., and still be within acceptable parameters.
    4. We are unable to 'swap' medication. If you require replacement medication, we will need a new prescription from your prescriber, for which they may charge you.
