Who is eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine?

Under the Isle of Man NHS influenza immunisation programme (via PGD) vaccinations will be offered in line with national guidance.   Below is the expected eligibility:

From 1 September 2025:

• Pregnant women (at any stage)

• Children aged 2 or 3 years (on 31 August 2025)

• School-aged children (Reception through Year 11)

• Children aged 6 months to under 18 years in clinical risk groups

From 1 October 2025:

• Adults aged 65 years and over (or turning 65 by 31 March 2026)

• Adults aged 18–64 with certain long-term health conditions (e.g. respiratory, heart, kidney, liver, neurological, weakened immunity, diabetes)

• Carers (receiving carer’s allowance or main carer for older/disabled persons)

• Household contacts of immunocompromised individuals

• Residents in long-stay care homes

• Frontline health & social care workers (where not eligible via employer scheme)

COVID-19 Booster Eligibility (Isle of Man)

The Isle of Man winter vaccination programme also includes COVID-19 boosters for eligible groups.   If you’re eligible, you may get your COVID-19 booster at the same time as your flu vaccine.

How to Book & What to Do

1. Book your appointment at our Onchan or Kirk Michael pharmacies.

2. Print and bring the patient consent form (or ask for a form to fill in store)

3. Arrive on time; if you have a fever or are unwell, please reschedule.

4. When you arrive, our staff will check your eligibility and administer the vaccine(s).
